This week on board:
*We packed up the boat ( one guess how James feels about packing) It was not fun, it was sad, boring and hard. Not a good combination, but it’s done!
*Paloma dived into algebra with help of khan ( they should pay me for product placement) academy and James.
* Paloma & Ronan spent a lot time with their new four legged friend, Aris.
*After watching all of the X-men movies, and after much debate, Ronan declared imagination the greatest mutant power.
*We said good bye to the good ship Ondine. ( I keep humming this song )
How was your week? Are you sad about Jobs dying? ( James’ is very sad, he worked for him once) Put your week in the comments, we love hearing from you.
We returned to Greece on Jimmy’s second birthday, drove five hours across the misty mountains to Preveza where we sailed on another catamaran. Smaller, smellier, a great deal cheaper. We made them an offer. The boat is called Floss. It feels like a command.
Safe journey. I picture you all diving into New York with the same spirit as you dive into vast blue oceans.
I agree with Alice! I love your blog and am sad your life on Ondine is coming to a close. You have created such a wonderful record of a glorious time.
Emmylou is in training for the next Wenty park Mongrel cup (to be held on Paloma’s birthday). Linus is going to run, too, just for comic relief. He makes people laugh the way he skips along then trips over his paws and falls over in a long loose-limbed puppy way. I have decided to enrol in a yoga teaching course. I know, I know, at my age, with my yogically-challenged body etc etc. But I want to do it, and I will even if it means changing my plans and having to earn more money (it doesn’t come cheap) and to stay in Sydney until 2014.
Hope you took a photo of that!
Quitting a job sounds pretty big. We are in a similar places, good luck with your new chapter.
Congratulations! You can get married in New York, just saying. Another reason to love the big apple
I am so sorry that the adventure is over but I am excited that I will soon be able to talk to via phone rather than FB chat..My week was fairly normal and involved no fires!!! I had a flat car battery while out at Liverpool not my favourite part of Sydney and was very thankful that the battery man showed up quite quickly. Greg thinks I’m a snob, I probably am! I read books with Rosie and Jasper has tonsilitis. I feel sad that Anne has so much on her hands and try to help where I can..Poor Tom’s skin grafts are itchy..I made chocolate/caramel slice..Love to you all!!! xo
Dan and I may be having a civil union after all in the near future as we are still in love despite it all. I fear that we may need to go to new Zealand to do it as we are still illegal here in OZ. I have lost 25 kilos and feel great, Sorry about your trip ending but at least now your washing will be easier to dry. rolling ones eyes. Matthew
My ‘life’ is quite boring compared with what your family has been doing over the past few months. Yesterday – Friday Oct 07, I (finally) quit my (most recent) day job..! My wife Jane is visiting family and friends in Sydney. Coming home to Brisbane Monday night (10th)and probably/possibly back to the mining camps in Central Queensland. She’s listed to go work in Kakadu late October !
Oh don’t stop now! I’ve loved living your trip vicariously! What happens next for y’all!?
Btw my week: school hols, 6 lovely days in Sth Gippsland, playing bad tennis with kids, making sand mermaids. Now, back in town, sitting in a cafe in Elwood while Ambrose is at a kinder friend’s fairy party. He wore leopard print leggings & a red shark tshirt.
